MFG, short for Message From God, are one of the pioneering acts of the Israeli psychedelic trance movement. Formed by childhood friends Guy Zukrel and Aharon Segal in the early 1990s, the project became known for its powerful fusion of dark atmospheres, emotional melodies, and futuristic psychedelic sound design.
Before discovering trance, the duo was heavily influenced by Industrial and EBM acts such as Skinny Puppy, Front 242, and Front Line Assembly. Those darker electronic roots remained a defining part of the MFG sound throughout the years.
Their breakthrough came with the legendary debut album The Prophecy (1996) on Phonokol, a release that became a milestone of the golden era of psychedelic trance. It was followed by influential albums such as New Kind Of World (1997), Project Genesis (1998), The Message (2001), and Message From God (2006), each helping shape the identity of the global psytrance scene.
Known for their unique sound and unforgettable live performances, MFG built a loyal worldwide following and performed at some of the most iconic festivals and gatherings in trance culture.
In recent years, the duo returned with renewed creativity through releases such as Pure Energy (2019), Lost Treasures (2023), MFG World (2023), and MFG World – The Retro Version (2025), reconnecting with the spirit of their early work while embracing modern production techniques.
Now, nearly 30 years after The Prophecy, MFG are preparing to release The New Prophecy, a direct continuation of their groundbreaking debut album. The project revisits the atmosphere, emotion, and philosophy of the 90s while bringing them into a modern sonic world.
For MFG, music was never about trends. Their focus has always been on honesty, emotion, and creating timeless electronic music that leaves a lasting mark on the listener.
With The New Prophecy on the horizon and a growing collection of unreleased material currently in production, MFG continues to look forward rather than backward. Nearly three decades after their journey began, the story is still unfolding, and there is much more music yet to come.
